Background: Some think that all Muslims are Arabs, or think most are Arabs, or Muslims are only from the Middle East.
While Islam is often associated with Arabs, they make up only 15% of the world's Muslim population. The country with the largest population of Muslims is Indonesia (which is a non-Arab country). Muslims make up about 1/5 of the world's population (about 1.2 billion), with large numbers found in Asia (~69%), Africa (~27%), Europe/USA (~4%) and other parts of the world.
